TOURS & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE ASSOCIATE

Full Time:-  37.5 hours per week.

PURPOSE & SCOPE OF ROLE: This Tours & Customer Experience Associate role sits within North Point Distillery’s Commercial Team and will provide a suitable candidate with the opportunity to gain experience across the breadth of commercial sales, digital and product marketing, event management, Shop and Tours management, and logistics.

Day-to-day tasks will take place predominantly in our commercial facility in Forss, West Caithness working within our Commercial Team managed by our Co-Founder and Head of Sales, Alex MacDonald. Additional tasks to support any ad-hoc activities required by the business, such as labelling and bottling are required for this role.

In addition to on-the-job training, this development role position will provide structured learning through the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, a qualification recognised throughout the spirits industry. A further qualification (SVQ) in Food and Drink Operations will be available for those who wish to take advantage of a structured learning environment in future years.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Daily Front of House operations within the Distillery’s onsite shop;

● Carrying out daily in-Shop Tastings and Distillery Tours;

● Daily maintenance of public-facing areas and shared space;

● Planning, attending, and reporting on in-Distillery events;

● Social media management and planning;

● Managing customer experience;

● Provide daily and weekly stock control, including duty paid and retail inventory;

● Contribute to a safe working environment through hazard spotting, near-miss reporting, behavioural safety auditing, and participation in site-wide meetings;

● Assist the distillery teams as required (in both production and non-production activities).

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

● Comfortable and skillful in public speaking is mandatory for this role;

● Driving Licence is essential (limited car-pooling from Thurso, Reay or Melvich is possible);

● Good numerical and literacy skills (oral, written, and reporting);

● Working knowledge of the Google Suite system (or similar);

● Previous experience of working within a sales and/or customer service environment would be a benefit;

● Personal Licence is a benefit;

● Successful candidates should be prepared to support a diverse number of roles within the distillery; e.g., finance, tours, events management, due-diligence, pick-and-pack, etc.;

● Fluent in English is essential, while the ability to speak additional languages is a benefit;

● Ability to self-motivate and make autonomous, informed decisions is essential.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

● Ability to lift 25 Kg safely and unaided

● Comfortable with occasional working from height
