Project Manager – Wick Development Trust
Location: Wick, Caithness
Full Time
Salary: £35,000 + 3% Pension contribution
Starting date – Immediate start
Contract Length – 18 months with possibility of extension
Leave allowance – 28 days
The role – The Board is seeking an experienced, motivated, enthusiastic person to deliver our key projects, including all aspects of cost, process, community engagement, stakeholder management and delivery.
- Manage and deliver the implementation of the phase 3 project at Wick River Campsite.
- To oversee the implementation of agreed projects for the campsite, securing funding for these, and provide high level reports to the Trust Directors in regard to progress.
- To provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Campsite to include:
o Management of teams as the organisation expands.
o Financial oversight.
o Liaison with external statutory and third sector organisations. - To secure inward investment to be used to support specific projects and to ensure that the Trust’s work has long term sustainability and growth.
- Work with the community to create and deliver projects to contribute to Net Zero ambitions for Wick.
- Be the primary interface for the definition and delivery of our development plans to the Board directors and partner agencies.
- With the support of Trust directors, develop effective engagement and communications with the community and other stakeholders.
- Engage and manage partners, suppliers and contractors to support the agreed plans.
Preferred Experience Required
- Experience in managing regeneration/economic development
- Experience in project managing construction projects
- Previous involvement in overseeing funded regeneration programmes.
- Experience of making business grant funding applications.
- An ability to build positive and professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- An understanding of the challenges for smaller communities and use this to make transformational changes.
- Experience in effective engagement with communities, businesses, senior leadership team and Council members.
- An ability to participate in complex negotiations for commercial contracts relating to regeneration and construction.
- A creative ability to solve problems and design processes.
The role will entail a mixture of onsite and home working and some travel may be required. A full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle is essential.
