About the role:
Plan and undertake inspection activities including all necessary visual and NDT inspection of welds and reporting of all results.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- To ensure that the correct PPE is used for the work in hand.
- To ensure work is carried out safely & does not endanger themselves or others.
- To ensure that equipment to be used is fit for purpose & has been electrically checked & in date.
- To ensure that all equipment is calibrated as required & all daily calibration checks are carried out & records maintained.
- To co-ordinate & Carry out NDT activities in conjunction with quality control plans, Manufacture, Inspection & Test Plans & Test Schedules.
- To carry out in-process & final inspection of all manufactured products to ensure that work is carried out in accordance, and meets the standard required in the relevant contract specification
- Work in accordance with the Environmental Management Systems
- To ensure that all inspection activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant procedure as detailed in the contracts quality plan.
- To document test activities by way of accurate inspection logs & Reports, ensuring that all relevant information is documented to aid with QA traceability.
Candidate requirements:
- Experience in fabrication and welding projects and an understanding of weld inspection techniques.
- Ideally you will have CSWIP 3.0 Visual Weld Inspection Qualification and be qualified to PCN Level 2 in MPI / LPE Inspection although training in some or all of these may be provided.
- Competent in reading engineering drawings and able to interpret project specification and procedures.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Word / Excel.
- Ability to prepare Inspection Reports.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Able to provide flexibility in working hours to ensure project requirements can be met.
