We specialise in recycling services and operate all over the UK, including locations such as Leeds, Glasgow, and even the scenic Orkney Islands. Our base/site is situated in Ulbster, Lybster, Caithness. As we continue to expand our operations, we’re looking for talented individuals to join the team.
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and have the ability to diagnose and repair various types of machinery and vehicles. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of machinery and vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake adjustments, and tyre rotations.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and manual techniques.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and efficiency within the workshop.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is essential.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, and electrical components.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and repair tools is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive or mechanical engineering are advantageous but not mandatory.
