Community Mental Health Nurse

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Community Mental Health Nurse to join our Older Adult Team within Caithness. Your role will be assisting in managing the clinical care of patients with mental ill health as delegated by Senior Practitioners (CPN) with adults over the age of 65 or of any age if a memory concern. It will involve assessment; care planning, implementation and evaluation of the care plan, in partnership with the client and family and carers.

The role will involve medication monitoring, liaising with psychiatrists, Primary Care and with other Social Care services, and referring on to other services as appropriate. You will be an active member of an MDT. You will be supervising students and Support Workers on occasion.

You will need to be registered with the NMC and work within code of conduct at all times.

A driving licence is essential and a pool car may be available, however, applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes, if required.

This is a permanent 37 hours per week post, worked in accordance with service requirements, The role will also include being part of the Place of Safety service for escort of detained patients to a psychiatric in-patient facility.

Post can be based in Thurso or Wick
