Exciting Seasonal Guest Service Assistant Opportunities – March to September
Looking for a fantastic opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful destinations in the UK? We’re hiring Guest Service Assistants at Dornoch Station for the summer season! Whether you’re interested in Reception, Bar, Restaurant, or Housekeeping roles, we have a place for you. Previous experience is great, but don’t worry if you’re new to hospitality—we’ll provide top-notch training to set you up for success.

As a Guest Service Assistant, you’ll be the first and last impression for our guests, ensuring they have an unforgettable experience. You’ll work across different areas of the hotel, including Reception, Bar, and Restaurant, gaining valuable experience in multiple departments. No two days will be the same, and you’ll be at the heart of a vibrant and friendly team.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Reception:
- Deliver exceptional service across Reception and Food & Beverage departments, ensuring guests feel welcome and valued at all times.
- Create memorable guest experiences from check-in to departure—making sure every guest leaves with a smile!
- Provide local recommendations and assist with guest inquiries, payments, and feedback.
- Take ownership of guest concerns, solving problems with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Assist guests with luggage and anticipate any special requests they may have.
- Recommend upgrades and special offers to enhance the guest experience.
- Stay knowledgeable about hotel services, events, and emergency procedures.
- Work as a team player, assisting fellow Team Members when needed.
Food & Beverage Service:
- Provide outstanding bar and restaurant service, ensuring guests enjoy a seamless dining experience.
- Take food and drink orders, serve meals efficiently, and ensure guests’ needs are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar and restaurant area.
- Offer menu recommendations, upselling food and drinks to enhance the guest experience.
- Ensure all hygiene, safety, and licensing regulations are followed at all times.
- Handle payments and maintain accurate billing for guests.
- Set up and clear tables, ensuring the restaurant and bar areas are always welcoming.
We’re Looking For You If…
- You have a passion for customer service and love meeting new people.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a natural ability to multi-task and problem-solve.
- You have strong communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
- You stay calm and composed no matter what challenges arise.
- You have a friendly, positive attitude and are willing to learn and adapt.
- Previous hospitality, bar, restaurant, or customer service experience is a plus, but not essential!
