Overview
District Support Manager
We are excited to introduce a new role of District Support Manager to the Sutherland District of NHS Highland.
As the successful applicant, you will provide high quality business support to the District Manager and will be an integral member of the District leadership team. You will lead on the management and delivery of a full range of comprehensive administrative support services to the District Manager, District Management Group, District Professional Leads, and other project and working groups, ensuring the business is effectively and efficiently undertaken and work prioritised to deliver the locality objectives, targets, and outcomes.
Main duties:
- The postholder has direct responsibility for staff and budgets within the administrative service and plays a strong role acting on behalf of the District Manager in designated areas.
- The postholder will be expected to lead on the development of proposals and business cases relating to specific services improvement, redesign, or modernisation.
- As a District lead the postholder has an essential role to work alongside the District Manager, and District Leads and other directorate leads in the delivery of effective district forums, service development and project groups and ensuring that these groups and forums are administered.
- Develop and implement effective communications systems internally, within the district, and externally with key partner agencies and directorate leads.
- Design, implement, review, and evaluate administration functions within the district and between the district and the community directorate and our key local partner agencies.
- This post will support the District Manager to lead on the actions of requirements of the Community Planning Partnership, working closely with other agencies to deliver on the priorities of the partnership.
- Provides effective line management and leadership to the district’s administration staff.
- As a district lead the postholder leads on the implementation of systems for performance management and creates a learning culture within the administration team across the district.
- The postholder has overall responsibility for the management, leadership, and direction of the Administration Team who, in turn, provide high quality administrative, secretarial, and clerical support across the district`s leadership Team, integrated teams, nursing and AHP services.
- The postholder leads on the development, implementation and maintenance of administrative services and systems.
- The postholder will develop and maintain working relationships with all personnel within the sector, including GP practice staff and outside agencies. The postholder will provide support and advice to staff and colleagues across the sector on the business support function as required.
- The Sutherland postholder will have overall operational responsibility for the Administration Team, including delegated authority for defined budgets. Responsible for a total budget of ~£200,000
You will be responsible for your own workload, prioritising according to current demands. You will be based at the Lawson Memorial Hospital in Golspie, however at times you will be required to work within locations throughout Sutherland.
This is a permanent full-time post working 37 hours per week.
